Surrender

I don’t believe in fighting for anything.
True love is given in exchange for nothing.

Erecting a defense is the first act of war.
And it concedes the possibility of failure.

Attention strengthens conflict and fear.
In open-mindedness there is a balm.

Once challenged both sides harden.
Success is then defined in one’s defeat.

Deciding the outcome shuts eyes to faith.
Judgement removes any chance of a miracle.

True victory is found in surrender.
Only forgiveness illumines the possibility of joy.

I perceive an enemy across the Maginot Line.
But the stranger is likely a friend.

When I pick up a sword I have already lost.
It is only when I Love that I find my God.
