Going On An Ego Trip

Going on an ego trip,
Packing a suitcase of shame.
Lugging my luggage along with me,
Leaving no baggage unclaimed.

Booked a ticket on the future train,
Hoping I can leave this pain behind.
Getting out of here where my hell is real,
Anywhere else would be fine.

Keeping busy till the porter calls,
Telling me to hop on board.
Staying unconscious while I wait my turn,
Treading water till I cut the cord.

Taking myself on an ego trip,
Too scared to stay in one place.
Frantic with fear God will find me here,
Another lifetime gone to waste.
