Little Child of God

Little child of God, I know you.
From your mother’s womb I have called you.

Little child of God, I’ll watch over you,
As you sleep and dream meaningless dreams.

Little child of God, I won’t leave you,
When you have turned your stubborn head away.

Little child of God, I’ll wait patiently,
While you toil and spin in useless anxiety.

Little child of God, you can’t lose me,
No matter how far away you think you’ve run.

Little child of God, I see you.
Though you think you’re hiding under that robe of shame.

Little child of God, I’ll hold you.
When you get tired enough to finally rest.

Little child of God, be still.
You need do nothing to earn your worth.

Little child of God, come home now.
A kingdom of love awaits you.
