The Key to Heaven’s Door

The deception of this world I think I live in,
Is that I see my own sins inside you.
Condemn you and I keep us both imprisoned.
Release you and our love and strength renew.
So I must choose the path that I would follow.
The way will be illumined if I ask.
I can linger here in pain and sorrow,
Or will myself to get back to my task.
Forgiveness is the key to Heaven’s freedom;
But keys are worthless when I’ve lost the door;
Standing on the other side, He’s waiting;
Patiently, until I want Him more,
Than anything this world can ever offer;
Until I finally care for nothing else.
The secret of salvation is but this;
That I am doing this unto myself.
