When I Emerge

I am a bear in a winter cave;
Hibernating and asleep.
Conserving strength while dreaming dreams.
I will stretch and awaken in good time,
And when I emerge, it will be Spring.

I am a chrysllis in a cocoon;
Still, yet growing still.
Toiling while I’m hidden away.
I will break free at the appointed hour,
And when I emerge, I will fly.

I am an egg in a robin’s nest.
Protected by a fragile shell.
Waiting patiently in place.
I will hatch when I can no longer bear it,
And when I emerge, I will be free.
