I do not have to be trapped
Prisoner behind these eyes
Seeing only what my brain allows
Perceiving only this world of flesh.
True vision is never limited
From the spot above myself
I can see with sightless eyes
More than what this world wants me to see.
The cosmic joke simply cannot be
That this world is all there is
What cruel maker would lead us through this life
Just to hold the reasons for it in suspense?
A light may shine before me
But I have to choose to see it or stay blind
I can numbly stumble tripping over my own feet
Or decide I finally want to see the truth.
Closing blue eyes opens up the heavens’ lids
I cannot see His vision through my own
If I truly wish to walk a path to God’s front door
The light within my mind must show the way.
