It’s up to me to teach you who I am. Needy little me, or invulnerable?
If I teach you that you can hurt me, you learn you have power to inflict suffering on the world.
If I teach you that I am Love, filled up, pouring out, lacking nothing no matter how you try to harm me, then you learn that you are Love too.
If I teach you that you can steal from me, you learn that lack and loss are real.
If I teach you that nothing real can ever be taken away, or threatened or diminished at all, you learn that you always have what you need, and everything else is of passing unimportance.
If I teach you that I can be abandoned and lost, you learn to fear for your own security.
But if I teach you that I am never alone, cast down or left outside the doors of God, you learn that we are One forever and that there is never anything to fear.
